We started by ordering the tropical cooler and the cherry bomb, they honestly looked better than they tasted.
Most of the “Raw Bar” section of the menu wasn’t available. The pacific maki was the only available option, which was okay, nothing special.
We tried the wagyu cheese steak sliders and the Veneto burger, both tasted really good. My favorite dish was the black angus tenderloin, it was grilled perfectly. The accompanying mushroom cream complimented the taste so well, it is a must have.
We also had the truffle rigatoni, which was so creamy and yummy.
The decor and music were really amazing, but the service was real slow.

AMAZING staff who are very polite, helpful, and sweet. Manager is amazing at his job, and the waiters are very well trained! The food is also great with lots of options to choose from.

All was excellent even the taste it was top-notched but It would have been way better if the amount of food being served would be bigger since the price was not cheap.
Service on the other hand was great and the view overlooking the Dubai fountain and its surrounding areas were indeed a magnificent sight.

We went to try out this gem having heard some of our firends rave about it. The atmosphere was intimate with funky lounge music which was great. The decor and layout of the restaurant was great with lots of different types of seating areas for everyone. We were greeted with friendly staff who constantly came to check on us to make sure we were ok and having small friendly conversations. We honestly enjoyed and devoured everything we ordered, the fries were just absolutely loaded with deliciousness, we loved the combo of sweet and normal potatoes. The grilled corn was so tasty and the sauce complimented it. We enjoyed the pacific maki which had bits of mango in it so it gave us a real sweet and savoury eating experience. The lambchops were also perfectly executed. We cant wait to go back and try some of the other dishes as we were full and satisfied.

A cheaper alternative for zuma. I’m not a fan of restaurants in malls mostly but this place has a great atmosphere and delicious food for a reasonable price. It is difficult getting a table on busy days but it’s worth the wait.

A number of people recommended OFK so it lay poised on my shortlist for quite some time. OFK stands for Open Flame Kitchen which is a hint that the menu leans in touch towards grilled food. That said, there is a generous raw bar menu (self titled) offering various sushi, ceviche another items.
But before getting into the food, let us lay our scene. The decor here is one of the highlights. The interior achieves a modern, moody almost Japanese garden field with a main bar and concentric seating surrounding it. The outside offers a panoramic view of Dubai Mall, the surrounding skyscrapers including the Burj Khalifa and of course, the Dubai Fountains that set off every 30 minutes - probably the reason most people come.
Indeed, the atmosphere here is win-win if you sit inside or outside. That said, the outside very much leans on the view. The interior achieves a somewhat whimsical field which doesn’t quite stretch to the outside balcony. This is just a minor point about continuity of theme which is realised in some other downtown restaurants nearby.

THE FOOD:
An unexpected amuse bouche: this strained labneh with olive oil and black sesame crisps was enjoyable, restrained & simple. The clean white smooth dome of labneh is dramatically pierced by jagged black shards of black sesame crisp. This arrived at our table without much fanfare. The smooth and slightly sour labneh contrasted with the oily slightly earthy black sesame. It’s a generous interpretation of bread and butter.
The HALLOUMI POINT NEUF FRIES are generously seasoned with sharp pomegranate molasses and earthy tahini yoghurt which couples nicely with the slightly salty halloumi with the addition of crunch and pop of pomegranate seeds with fine slivers of jalapeño: there is a lot of texture and flavour going on in a relatively simple dish.
The BRAISED WAGYU BEEF CHEEK was lol also be a dish that I’ll gravitate towards on a menu . The slow cooking yields the best out of this tough meet cut rendering the beef sinew down resulting in a gloriously soft cuts of meat. The maple glaze coats the whole dish and spicy peanut brittle adds a very subtle crunch. This dish was surprisingly slightly too salty.
The SEA BREAM CEVICHE was okay. What I enjoy about ceviche is the playfulness between the acidic elements, the cooling leche de tigre and some mildly threatening spice coupled with usually an element of crunchy texture such as corn. This ceviche was more mono-dimensional with a subtle flavour and little crunch. If you enjoy that more acidic profile then this may not be the ceviche for you. That said, if you have never had ceviche and you are anxious about eating raw fish then this may be a good gateway place for you.
The BRAISED CARROTS arrive on a bed of Greek yoghurt together with pine nuts and garlic crisps; with baby carrots collapsed on each other like tent poles each gently spiced. To finish, its coated with a waiter pouring clarified butter over the carrots and labneh at the table. The presentation is simple beautiful, the carrots are sweet amplified by the warm spice reminiscent of an autumnal dish, the creamy yoghurt adds comfort. The butter adds very little in my view leaving an overly fatty mouth feel. Instead, an extra-virgin olive oil or flavoured oil would bring a bit more freshness and brightness to compete with the creamy yoghurt and some pepperiness to compliment to the spices.

Overall, for a restaurant in a shopping mall, this is pretty good eating. And the comments here and there about aspects of the dish is really just fine tuning. There are many places to eat in downtown Dubai and, especially in this newly developed extension of Dubai Mall, it is perhaps in the details that the strongest will survive.

Would I come back to OFK? Yes. It’s a very pleasant location, charming decor, very attentive service (albeit at times smothering) and the food is good. My sense is that this could be great and hopefully the restaurant will take on board some of these thoughts.

Atmosphere was amazing, food was good , i ordered TOKYO , TRUFFLE RISOTTO & TROPICAL COOLER. Tokoyo was delicious ,I LOVED the risotto you can really taste the flavor which was amazing , the tropical cooler was fine since I’m used to drinking juices that have cucumber, but it was slightly bitter .one note is that the servant didn’t seem to know the menu well , i had a friend who asked him if they had options for vegetarians, he seemed really confused and didn’t understand what she said .Overall I really loved restaurant definitely will visit again .

Everything on the menu is delicious, every dish is better than the previous!! Customer service is one of the best, staff are so friendly! Definitely recommended.

Open Flame Kitchen opened in dubai mall just recently in the fashion avenue. First off the food was on point, absolutely amazing, loved every dish that we’ve ordered (sorry for not taking pictures, i always say I’ll take pictures but I’m a very impatient person when it comes to food 😂, as soon as the food comes i eat everything, i can't wait). What we’ve ordered:
- Wagyu crispy rice
- Fuji fries
- Sriracha honey shrimps
- midnight slider
- sous vide wagyu ribs
- peanut butter parfait (dessert)

Like i said the food was amazing and i recommend everyone of them. Loved the ambiance and atmosphere,
the service was fast, and staff were really nice and friendly. Must visit! 👌🏻

Today was the first time I try OFK. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. The seating area is comfortable and it is not too close to other tables. I rated this place 5 today because the service was phenomenal! The whole experience with the waiter and those that brought the food was great! They were making sure that we are comfortable by making friendly talks and they recommend food that they think we would like based on our needs. The first question the waiter asked was if we had any allergies which is great for those with nut or other allergies. Overall, the staff was very friendly and I hope that they stay like that throughout the upcoming months.

The food arrived hot and the wagu cheek was very soft. Personally I love a lot of sauce so you could order more sauce on the side. The fries was the best but then again I would put more sauce so that it is not dry.

I would come back to try their other dishes.

Rib Eye Shawarma and their complete grill menu is inventive — offering a mix of boldly flavoured signature dishes spiced up with Middle Eastern accents.

The curiously named OFK just opened in Dubai Mall between Somewhere and Bebabel in the hot new dining destination that is Fashion Avenue. OFK stands for Open Flame Kitchen and is a Kuwaiti import from the company behind the popular Slider Station and Burger Boutique. Ill-fated Atmosfire it’s not, though they do follow a similar concept showcasing meats cooked on different grills, including the parrilla, robata and tandoori oven.

We went there for lunch and we really enjoyed the food, the outdoor seating and the service. The restaurant is good for sharing the food, so we ordered many items from the menu which were suggested by the manager and all the items we were delicious and well presented. The outdoor seating when the weather is nice is a must since you will have a good view of the famous dancing fountain.

This place is owned by the same company that owns slider station. so to start with info was good news to me.

The food:

The labneh that they serve you once you have a table there is excellent and i e noted it while my food was being prepared.

I had what was recommended to me by the waitress as a starter . the fried halloumi sticks drizzled with pomegranates and tahini sauce ..lovely twist 3.8/5

The truffle pasta was very good 3.8/5

But what stood out with flying colors was the heavenly cheesecake with berries ... 5/5

by far the best cheesecake i had in Dubai .. the combination of the mascarpone cheese and the perfect buiscut layer was perfection.

A must try resturant for all

Very nice food,menu varity is good,nice views and atmosphere outdoor ,but indoor is very noise (loud musics) and tables very close to each others which is not prefferable and you cant have any privacy,,manager is very active and service is very good.

If booking for table is possible with zomato will be great add on.

After visiting the restaurant arround 50 times i can say only thing to keep your customers is to accept online booking and review some prices in the menu which is costing like hotel fine dining
