Went for an early morning breakfast to Havana cafe and selected their day dreaming Havana breakfast, it didn’t disappoint me, the portion is good for two and you get to replace food items with the ones you like most. @thecutleries
how everone is so polite. Their menus are so healthy and delicious. this is my second time before and now everythings was perfect. if you would like to eat some food healthy and good price you should see here absolutely. The Havana cafe has beautiful ambience, decorations and music as well. i feel really comfortable like my home. Thanks guys.
The place is located where Spinneys is in Al Wasl Road.
The decoration is cool Cuban style with colors and plants.
I had a cappuccino, a sparkling water and avocado toast with poached egg on top.
The coffee cup is very big, the coffee was a bit watery.
The smashed avocado was delicious and presented with feta cheese on the side.
Was spicy but good!
It’s a nice spot for a fast bite if you are around.
I eat here every couple of months and the food is decent. This time I ordered a Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich on Ciabatta and was really looking forward to something zesty. The Jamaicans do a great job with their chicken and every foodie understands the value of a true taste. Sadly, got served a grilled chicken sandwich and was quite disappointed. The manager made a great service recovery and offered to replace the item and not charge as well. When I insisted on paying for my food , they add a complimentary chocolate fondant which I also offered to pay for as it was quite good.
The service awareness is what really changed the rating of the restaurant for me. Wish them good luck !
Been here a few times and I always enjoy it, I've found my go-to dish here and it's the falafel salad.. it's your average salad but with a tahini dressing and bits of falafel.. simple yet delicious.
The staff were great too, service was quick, over all a great place to have a casual meal..
The food is good nothing Cuban about it it's s mix and match of different cusiene. The portion size is good enough the starters can also be shared
Good ambience .. the only problem is the shortage of service staff you can see them running to cover the entire restaurant and they are good but one needs to wait for their attention
Over all a good experience and good food
Liked their atmosphere after the renovation.
I take the kids there for Breakfast and I just order Havana breakfast and one extra pastry.
The portion is very satisfying and delicious.
Made a pit stop at cafe Havana when I was around the area, ordered a club sandwich. Was served hot and fresh. Service was good too sandwich had a little twist to it rather than the typical sandwich.
What I went for: sat morning breakfast with the girls. It does feel like eternity since we have been out, after the annual, start of school viral fevers making the rounds.
Ambience: its big, spacious, with an open kitchen and Latino music in the background.. Cuban street scene from the 70's? plastered high up on the wall and colorful bottles, kettles, glasses and chairs to complete the decor!
What we ordered: Havana breakfast, a croissant, hot chocolate and an extra side of sautéed mushrooms.
Price: Aed 89
Verdict: in the order the food arrived- the orange juice in a jar was a notch too cold but without pulp as ordered
The butter croissant was warm, fluffy, flaky, buttery and thoroughly delicious..
The Havana breakfast looked absolutely fantastic.. who doesn't fall for looks?:) so the first battle was easily won!
The chicken sausages were nicely browned and served piping hot, the crispy veal bacon was quite unusual- it was extra thin, perfectly shaped.. all the things I don't really expect from bacon.. but it was good anyways, eggs sunny side up- just as I had ordered, grilled tomato, sautéed mushrooms and sourdough bread.. and a small French toast and a pancake.. little bits and bobs of everything.
A big pot of black coffee accompanies the Havana breakfast.. an essential in my opinion!
It helps me from not collapsing from the treacherous negotiations of what to eat, drink, what to do next, incessant questions about the world and moral debates of how they have been wronged by each other( the 7 and 3 yr old) or me!
What would I do without this bitter black brew!!!
I would like to make a special mention of the French toast, crisp on the outside, with loads of cinnamon! Just that little sweet ending that we all crave as an end to anything in life?
Since I have an inhouse expert on mushrooms- I think it's only right her views are made known.. "mushrooms are best when sautéed in butter with garlic, a dash of pepper and a smattering of fresh herbs.. " to add anything else in her view is sacrilege! So the lemony, mushrooms din't go down well with the 7 yr old though I personally didn't think it was that bad😳!
Hot chocolate- well I decided to order 1 to share, the half portions turned up in 2 jars! Which was quite awkward to drink in.. so requested the Maitre d to replace the younger ones'- she decided it was best served in a big cup instead..I think that was still quite something for a 3 yr old to handle.. Anyways in my humble opinion, hot chocolate is best served in a mug even if it's half a portion! With Regds to the taste- I think it was chocolatey, frothy, sweet and hot enough to get the thumbs up from the girls..
Would I return again? I think it was surprisingly pleasant, I quite liked my Havana breakfast platter which had a little bit of everything (great to share with 2 little girls) and spotted a few other things on the menu I could try next time- masala omelette, jerk chicken sandwich and one of the traditional Cuban drinks- batido de mang.
