My husband reserved it for dinner as my birthday suprise. Great memorable experience. Loved it. But food was not worth paying it. They could improve in food quality and quantity.
Definitely recommend the ride in beautiful weather and in good company. That would override the rather plain finger food. The sweet platter is not so bad. But the money's worth is only for the ride. We did the afternoon tea

Reservation is required through email. They seemed very strict about it even if you are going for afternoon tea on the boat. According to the receptionist the chef needs a day to prepare the tea and the sanwiches. However after several tries they agreed that I pay in the restaurant and make a reservation without payment for the same day. I went on a week day. The waiter was such a sweet person his name was gerico. I got asked more than 5 times by the staff there why do i wish to go on the boat trip alone which i found funny 😂. I needed some "me time". It is such a great place for "me time". They offered typical tea, little cakes (chocolate and cheese cake bites)(not bad), 2 macroons (good),, a fruit plate (good but some were not very fresh) and simple sandwiches which weren't that great. The only choice you get is (tea or coffee) you dont get to choose the flavors of the macroons, cakes, or sandwiches. The weather was amazing and the boat was very easy to ride😍. It was such a great experience. Very relaxing and mind soothing. I went at 5:00pm and the trip lasted for 1 hour so I got to watch the beautiful sunset with dubai's skyline. Fortunately alcohol is not allowed on the boat lol. No sound system is provided on the boat.
A very romantic experience especially that we chose a perfect timing when it comes to whether & sunset, we went at 17.30.
I believe it would also be fun for a group but havent tried that.
Being able to "sail" on your own in the water, watch the beautiful sunset view, & enjoy some bbq bites is just amazing!
Food is not excellent but its good enough, would advise though to bring bbq sauce & some spices of ur own if u like a strong taste. Not allowed to get any food or drinks from outside but the food that you choose from the menu should be more than enough. & driving the donut is a piece of cake :)

Sailing at 1pm in November, this was totally a memorable and unique one hour bbq experience for us (yes, even for 2 people!). We reached the restaurant half an hour earlier and they needed some time to set up the fire. Fine with us.
Two minor downsides were: The staff forgot to call us to confirm the new sailing schedule due to the strong wind and we had to follow up instead. Then, it was a challenge to maneuver the boat (pretty low motor horsepower compare to the current). We were drifted away and the staff didn't offer to tow us back even after we phoned him. We managed to get back to the dock 15 minutes late after a moment of panic. No extra charge.
Now the positive.. food! We ordered:
*Choice of salad - antipasti & nicoise
*Choice of main course - marinated chicken & lamb skewers + beef burger with portobello mushroom (AED145 per person) and mixed seafood platter of salmon, hammour & prawns (AED165 per person). These sets also come with jacket potato, corn on the cob, vege skewers, assorted nuts, chips & nachos with dip
*Complimentary dessert - mini french pastries & fresh fruit platters
*Drinks - Sprite AED18 per can
*1 hour sailing time - AED300
The quantity and quality were way over our expectations! We thought we'd end the session with a hungry tummy. Boy, we were wrong! So much well marinated delicious food to devour in so little time that we had to take away the unopened dessert box. It was a breezy day and you could also see Burj Khalifa from the creek.
As a side note, they only accept credit card or cash payment. If you're reluctant to give your cc details online, it is recommended to visit the restaurant at least a day before your preferred sailing time and pay on the spot. Otherwise, no booking will be entertained.

During my hunt for fun things to do in Dubai, I came across the Bbq Donut. How amazing is the concept of grilling and sailing at the same time. Whether its lunch, dinner or afternoon tea, this is the best way to dine with family and friends while floating on the creek. You can choose from the restaurant’s a-la-carte menu or grill your own special Bbq with spectacular surrounding views of the city. This floating barbecue station has been in Dubai for a while now and is a must try, especially when the weather is so good!

Food:
For food, you have an option to order from the a-la-carte menu of Boardwalk or you can select a fixed menu option with a variety of dishes. I suggest a fixed menu as you can sample various delicacies and it turns out cheaper, well that’s what I tried and here are the details:
-I was extremely impressed with the food served to us. We had four appetisers like greek salad, fatoush, tuna salad, along with wafers, Mexican dips with nachos and peanuts to munch on.
-The main course was a mixed selection of marinated meat and seafood- beef, salmon, hammour, jumbo prawns and lobster. There were also vegetables, corn on the cob and jacket potatoes. The flavour was delicious and it was so easy to grill this, all accompanied by a selections of sauces, breads and condiments.
-The dessert platter was an absolute treat! It was a mix of brownies, donuts, mini choux, macaroons, baklava and fresh fruits.
-Crockery, glassware, soft drinks, water and ice is provided by them.
Booking:
Booking is easy, all you have to decide this:
-The number of hours you want to spend on the donut
-Select your favourite dishes from their menu
-Decide if you want a captain (we did not take one as it was quite easy to ride it, also it’s AED 200 extra)
My Experience:
-If you have guests visiting or you’re looking for a relaxed yet different meal with family and friends then this is something you have to try.
-The food is delicious and is given in an ice box so you can grill it as and when you like. The staff explains the procedure of using the grill and shows you how to sail as well. Incase you’re stuck they send you a rescue boat!
-Its one of those relaxing experiences where you grill and sail at the same time. The view is simply fabulous! We also happened to watch a seaplane landing and taking off several times.
-The donut has a capacity of eight people but I think six would be good enough, anything more than that would seem a little conjusted. The boat is designed in a great way with cup and plate holders to avoid spillage.
-Since there are only four donuts, its very important that you reserve beforehand. It’s a great option for birthdays, romantic dinners or a family outing. But also be prepared for end moment cancellations, as this is totally dependant on the weather.
-Don’t expect a high speed boat, this is as slow as a snail but the pace is perfect to float and cook, remember safety comes first! So you don’t have to worry about your sea sickness!
Tips:
-Ask for extra charcoal as the griller starts to cool down after 2 hours making it difficult to cook meat.
– Ask the staff for extra butter, always helps in grilling the meat.
– Sunglasses and music are a must!
– Use the washroom before you get inside because once you’re in the water you don’t want to come back all the way.
-Ask the staff if they can offer gloves because the griller gets really hot.
– I would recommend a minimum 2-hour ride, anything less than that will be too much of a rush.
Service: The receptionist was a little too busy to acknowledge our presence but overall the service was good.
Bill: The Donut price depends on the number of hours you hire it for. We paid AED 500 for two hours + Food + Captain (if you need)

It is a unique and fun experience to say the least. We really had fun and the people working there are very helpful. I recommend you try it at least once in this weather and go for the 5-6 timing to see the sunset. Don't worry about burning the food even if you did there is a lot snacks there to make you full. You can also roast some marshmallows while you are at it :D Also don't worry about not being able to go back, we couldn't steer it well because of the strong wind so they sent us a rescue boat to drag us back. Overall i really recommend you trying this place at least once.
If you're in Dubai and looking for unique experience, this is it. The BBQ donut is a slow moving, oversized, reinforced innertube looking flotation device known as the donut. The center of it houses a charcoal BBQ, surrounded by a table. The food is ample and how it tastes and how it's cooked is up to you. This is a great idea for a night time experience, but you don't have to worry about the sun if you prefer to go during the day as the donut comes equipped with an umbrella. There was more than enough food for the 4 of us and the BBQ is ready to go once you get on the boat.

Soooooo much fun! This is really dining taken to a different level! Our group of 5 had sooooo much fun...
We arrived 15 min pre-sailing, as advised.. They will ask for 1 id and to smoothen the process i had filled all the necessary paperwork/ disclaimers by email.
We were swiftly escorted to the dock, where we sat and took in the stunning view (and a few group selfies)... The staff was lovely (jericho is the fellow who helped us)...2 'drivers' volunteered from our group and were debriefed (pls note we were really on the fence abt having a captain and so happy we didnt- this thing is soooooo easy to Maneuver.also allowed for more intimacy/ speaking freely within our group). We went as far as floating bridge!
What to wear: it is colllllllld!!!! Dont ruin the experience by being scantily dressed... I wore multiple layers and was comfortable.... Pls wear comfy / closed shoes: some pple (near the driver seat) were getting bits of water in the shoes/ foot area... So take care...also, there is smoke and sparks: so make sure your ok w your clothes taking that in (dont wear your best armani!)
The food: packed so, so professionally: everything was so perfect, as ordered; nachos n chips were packed in separate containers, as well as the salads we had pre- ordered... Lovely sides of veg skewers, corn on the cob n potatos....Being a group of close friends, we each ordered a diff salad so we could share and enjoy; which was a bit tricky to do with the open bbq pit and multiple containers... Although we didnt mind, if ur not that close to your guests, you may just want each person to choose their own ( so their is less passing around)...the fruit platter n dessert platter were fan and a great addition to the mains
The bbq: none of us had ever bbq'd: initially we were all thinking 'wth' but eventually (and a few burned items later, we got the hang of it): kill the flames w ice and put all ur food in the perimeter, leave the grill top open... Those 3 tips saved our meal.... I do suggest that the staff pack the food 'in order of consumption'... I.e. Put fruit platter n dessert at bottom and the meat on top ( since we'll eat before we have dessert)... Not a big deal, just a tip... Oh, n we collected all empty containers in the cooler cuz they tend to blow away otherwise.
Other tips: we had booked 2 hours, and were done everything by 1.5... Initially we were too flabbergasted w the bbq/ food to enjoy anything as far as ambiance n view.... But later we all agreed it was fab..., what our group (of princesses) would prob do next time is: bbq while boat is docked (and you can get help of staff!) and then set sail to enjoy dessert on the creek.... Butttt leave the coals on because they were a source of warmth!!!!
I give this experience 2 thumbs up and wouldnt rate it 5 stars only because of a few small points: no extra napkins or cutlery offered (you can imagine with all the cooking and passing that things fall and get 'lost' in foot space...our tongs were so bad... It was tricky to open n close them
Because the hinge was broken...there were supposed to be potabella mushrooms with our burgers, but none were packed; one of our appetizers had hummus and tabbouleh (but there was no arabic bread).
All in all a great thing to do w ur partner (highly romantic) and equally fun w older kids who can follow direction (at lunch time)... We will be back!
Oh n i forgot to add: u only get charged as per consumption for drinks, which was awesome: anything unopened was not billed AND there was 1 complimentary soft drink in a cooler per person
