Well, not exactly the most suitable way to utilize this place maybe but I just came here to do some work and this cafe has perfect desk for PC work where you can bring laptop and enjoy some espresso. Never seen such workaholics friendly cafe in Dubai so far. American coffee was also super nice.

Its a very bright and cozy place.Staff were absolutely friendly and helpful.I really enjoyed my afternoon tea with my family at the authors lounge.Everything they served was truly delicious.We can customize the spread according to our requirements.If you are looking for an affordable afternoon tea for business meetings/casual meets etc this is the place to go!!!
Authors’s Lounge is really just a posh café (be it a licensed one) at the Bonnington Hotel in Cluster J of JLT. It’s the perfect place for morning meetings, afternoon tea and even an early evening glass of pre-dinner bubbly. Service is friendly and unpretentious. Worth a visit.

This place is highly recommended for tea lovers. They have a minimal assortment of quality hot tea. However their vegetarians appetizers weren't as satisfying as expected.
It was really filling but I wish there were a little more of savory appetizers
I loved the fact that they served free drinks till 5:30 and our team was gaga over the hot chocolate.

Recently organised an afternoon tea birthday party at the Authors' Lounge. Just wanted to chill out with my friends. At first when I inquired regarding the restaurant they said it is in the lobby of the hotel. I had some misgivings about it but it is actually a separate area from the lobby and the view is wonderful!
The Afternoon tea was laid out so beautifully on the tables (not provided the normal tea tray, as too many guests). The beverages section was in the middle of the room (tea, coffees) and we were asked to sit down while they took our orders and served us individually.
There were about 4-5 open-faced sandwiches (Salmon, Egg, Roast beef, etc.) and loads of sweet pastries and cakes. I would have preferred more choice of savory items, but I guess most people love cakes. Plenty of food.
We had a lovely time there and all my friends enjoyed it too! It was a nice change from the usual lunch/dinner. I made all the arrangements with Mr. Leo, who was a wonderful host, attentive and friendly. He came often to check if we needed everything and all the staff were very welcoming! and free valet parking too.
Ambience: Excellent.
Presentation: Excellent (though I would have preferred the tea tray display).
Food: Well prepared and tasty - special mention of the egg sandwich - perfect in taste.
Overall: Excellent - Ladies will especially enjoy it with friends.
I have purchase my cobone voucher for this Afternoon tea set with my resto hopping buddy, my husband. Due to time constraint that we enjoy an hours only for our meal. I must say the ambiance is great, service was perfect, the supervisor Mr. Leo was very helpful and knowledgeable as he explains to us the different kinds of tea the lounge offers, food was very appetizing and yummy, pricing is good due to the voucher that I have purchased. Overall, I would like to come back and let my familt and friends experience it.

The place is nice if you want to have a quick and not too formal meeting with someone. They have a great decor but all the rest is ok.

Uh la la. It is always good to go back to places you have good memories of. Why? Because good memories are often linked to good food, a great atmosphere and great people - in our case, service.
It has been more than a year now that we visited the lounge and must say the driving force was one of our "fellow" bloggers around town. The blogger recently visited the outlet and reviewed various hot beverages as well as the service, and what had been said, could not have been right. We wanted to experience and see it with our own eyes.
... and once again, blogging is a great thing, reading fellow reviews is a great thing, and if we were not of this opinion, we would have most probably stopped a year after Servicexcellence was launched. Having said that, dearest followers, it is always great to inform yourself about a place online, but most probably only worth half of the experience if you then not try it out yourself!
We ordered green tea and a hot chocolate and were surprised not only of how much the service increased in terms of quality and speed but also loved what we were served.
Hot chocolate, a nice, thick and dramatic novel and a couple of hours spent at the Authors' Lounge, is all what a business traveler and resident of Dubai needs from time to time.
