The Alley is a small Chinese (bubble) teahouse in International City which is super popular with the Chinese/Asian community there. Based in the (surprise-surprise) China Cluster its handsomely appointed interior is dominated by a bar which doubles as a prep counter. My Chinese friends and I invariably end up there after a Chinese meal in International City. The place is run by the Chinese owner who doesn’t speak much English. But don’t let that stop you from going, I’ve never had a problem getting what I want, even when I’ve gone alone or with non-Chinese speaking friends.

There are many bubble tea shops in International City and most of them seem to be all clustered around the China clusters, which makes sense as that is the most likely community to drink Bubble Tea. Most of them more or less have the same flavours and way of making tea. Regardless of which one you visit, they will be miles ahead of what you get in mainland Dubai.

Small little place for bubble tea if that is your thing. The boba is quite nice as it is soft and chewy. Many choices of drinks that might take a while to decide on that one drink order
