A must have if you love love love love love Chinese food as much as I do.
This is by far one of the best I've had in Dubai and would highly recommend it. Prices are very reasonable as well.
Like most restaurants, they do have their hits and misses, but definitely more hits! You need to know what to order, just like anywhere else. Gotta admit, the presentation could use some improvement but who cares if it’s going to taste good?! 😉
I would go to this restaurant up to a few times a week and sometimes order a whole Peking duck to myself because it IS THAT GOOD! Coming to this restaurant and not ordering their Peking duck is like coming to Dubai and you've not seen Burj Khalifa. That is how significant a dish it is to this restaurant.
Other must haves are the spicy fried lamb (extremely spicy but worth it, even better if you appreciate eating the peppers as much as I do), spinach and century egg soup (for the adventurous), scallops with shrimps (really interesting textures), spicy home made tofu (i'm not sure if this is the name of the dish but there's this silky smooth tofu that is just oh so delicious!), squid stuffed okra (must have, everytime but it's not always available) and last but not least, their extremely limited edition egg tarts (always preorder to avoid disappointment). ☺️

Any time you find a restaurant that serves Abalone, Sea Cucumber, Shark Fin Soup (bit controversial) and Peking Duck, you can be sure that it is an authentic chinese restaurant. You might see some restaurants that claim to serve Peking duck, as I experienced in a certain 5* hotel, but let me tell you, it is not supposed to taste like KFC. For peking duck, it should have a crispy skin with a bit of fat between the skin and meat.
This is one of those restaurants where the item might look plain on the menu but it is full of flavour and thats what chinese cooking is supposed to taste like. You won't find much oil on the plate, and certain you won't find dishes like Manchurian chicken here.
For this reason I recommend you go with someone who is actually Chinese and they can recommend proper dishes for you.
You know you are in the right place when you enter and see that the crowd is all Chinese.
Try to save some room in your stomach for the desserts, they are quite excellent.
Fantastic Dim Sum, is only provided on Friday morning. Very authentic Cantonese or HongKong Dim Sum. Tasty! Yummy! And the portion is larger than normal in HongKong. Definitely will come again.
