Had dinner there yesterday. Food was great and the staff too. Especially Mr. Chris. I love the fact that they had so many cuisines to choose from. Definitely going there another time!
Such a sucker for advertising so when Time Out Dubai posted a video about Dip Street I just had to try it out. I mean I’m a carb lover who also enjoys lashings of gravy so sign me up! I went for lunch with some work friends and between us we ordered the roast beef, the duo which had one chicken and one beef sandwich as well as the pulled beef which comes with a bbq sauce instead of a gravy. They are hearty baps so come with a big appetite. The meat on the beef sandwich was a little dry so instead I’d recommend ordering the pulled beef but with a gravy sauce instead as the bbq came with star anise which can be a bit intense for some people. Oh I forgot to mention the sandwiches come with cheese. My fav! Gotta love that cheese pull. No frills, simple but pleasing meal.
Rumman house is a member of Kitchen Nation (a culinary incubator). A kitchen-themed restaurant that serves Levantine cuisine. We are amazed that they've used pots as lightning/decorations all over area, but the chairs were a bit uncomfortable to sit for long time. Their open kitchen will let you see how they prepare your food. You can even go inside to see it closely. For the main entrees, we tried the Chicken with Freekah (green whole wheat). The Freekah was surprisingly delicious. We really liked how they cooked it. The chicken was well marinated and roasted.
There is a daily dish menu Rumman House. Every Saturday is Vine Leaves with Stuffed Baby Marrow and Meat, served with yogurt and cucumber salad. The vine leaves and baby marrow were stuffed with rice lamb. It's like meat to the left, meat to the right, meat everywhere. Good plating and this dish was filling.
What we love is their Muhallabiah. It is a milk-based dessert originated from Turkey, flavored with rose water and topped with pistachios and honey (really love their honey). It was so delicate, silky and sweet. Best muhallabiah so far!
