Olive root is a quaint yet spacious restaurant that offers a few different dishes from multiple cuisines.
We decided to visit here on a Tuesday evening, too lazy to cook.
Since its just the 2 of us, we ended up ordering half a tandoori chicken for starter, an orange juice & a Royal chicken biriyani, which turned out to be plenty as we packed half the biriyani back home.
To start with, there were just 2 other tables occupied as I'm guessing cos it's a weekday!
The staff is very polite and courteous and there was also another man, who I presume is the owner, overlooking everything.
Service - 5/5
Coming to food, the portion and pricing is pretty decent. The tandoori half came with 4 pieces and mint chutney. The theatrics on this dish was amusing, coming out all smoking because of the coal!
The biriyani was recommended by the person who took our order and though I'm generally apprehensive to try biriyani (cos it can often go south), I was quite surprised that it was a good biriyani! Its mildly spiced, a good brand of rice used and there's enough and more chicken pieces for 2 people !
Food - 4/5
Coming to ambience and location, the insides are pretty much like another restaurant with the same specifics. Nothing that's exquisite, but nothing to complain about either.
Otherwise, great place for a casual night out when you are too lazy to cook!
Overall rating- 4/5
They serve very delicious Rajasthan thali. From starters to main course to dessert every dish served was delicious.
Staff service is also good and very active.
Had ordered veg combo thali and kashmiri pulao, both the dishes were good.. will look forward to visiting the restaurant to try out more of their dishes.
