Nice place in Dubai with an awesome atmosphere and great service. We ordered Avocado roll and seafood noodles, both dishes were really great with large quantities.

I visited Dubai last month for a business trip. But after having exhausted from work, I planned to spent a good evening with my spouse. We search and found this restaurant neat to our hotel. It was amazing experience to have Japanese food. It was our first try for a Japanese restaurant, We enjoyed a lot. It is a happening restaurant. This February, Oni Japanese Fusion restaurant and lounge re-opened its doors at the Shangri-La hotel on Sheikh Zayed road after a quick revamp. With a few changes in interiors, the concept stayed the same: big and open interactive kitchen, two heavily stocked bars with one secluded in a corner; with dining tables mostly occupying the central space with a few hiding behind an arch. Expect golden accents in interior design, dimmed lights, a comfortable setting with no obligation to dress up, DJ, friendly service, chatty bartenders (Martin) with a fun sense of humour and a great night out.
The concept was created by chef Mohammad Islam who believes in focusing on good ingredients sourced locally and from farms in Japan. Some of the imported produce is being delivered from “Hakodate Asaichi” morning market in Hokkaido, Japan. No wonder their thick broth Ramen is so delicious (but a little salty to my taste). Another restaurant’s obsession is a selection of sake generously served as cocktail base, shots, straight beverages, etc. Currently Emil Helmy, former chef at Ramusake, is in charge of day-to-day kitchen operations working closely with the bar team in creating experiences and pairings.
Everything I tried was delicious, fresh, light and really good equally in taste and in presentation: Hamachi Crudo (AED 75), home made Crispy Salmon Taco (AED 69), Dragon Roll (AED 85) and all kind of Kushiyaki (skewers) served to the table on a big stone still smoking. Their Matcha Milk cake (AED 45) was heavenly dreamy.

Food is not a great value for money i understand itz a 5star resturant but food should be really different i had Japanese cuisine from different places and trust me it tasted same, this place should be last option to have from here but yeah I recommend if you just want to sit back and have a good relaxing moments with you loved onces

During my 2 week stay in Dubai, ONI is my favourite japanese restaurant for dinner as I really appreciate the variety of japanese food here. Fresh fish, meat and noodles were very popular. All the japanese food was amazing, staff behaviour was friendly. Background music was lovely. Great vibes, food menu, the staff all was amazing. Sushi was really yummy. This is the best japanese restaurant in Dubai on sheikh zayed road. Lovely restaurant to eat, to dance, to drink and to enjoy. Love it so much. Highly recommended. :) :) :) :) :)
